Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. I just couldn't get enough enjoyment from the experience. After graduating, chef Burrell resided in Italy for a year, attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. She gained a deeper appreciation of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of sharing her cooking skills with other people.
