Padma Lakshmi Bio

 Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Chennai-based Indian woman who was born on September 1, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother moved to America in order to avoid the shame of divorcing in India. Lakshmi was a part of her maternal grandparents in Chennai for two years prior to moving with her mother to the United States. Her parents divorced and Lakshmi has two younger siblings. Lakshmi is a woman who has a last name with the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, grew up first in New York and then in Los Angeles with her mother and stepfather. Each year she returned to India to visit family members for several more months. Padma Lakshmi started acting in 1999. The first film she acted in was "Figlio di Sandokan" which was a film about an Italian pirate. Then, she played a role in  the film 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers), a drama about pirates of the 17th century. In 2001 she was also host of Italy's highest-rated TV show, 'Domenica In. She was in a hilarious supporting role as disco singer in a film called 'Glitter. Padma has a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on the 20th of February 2010 aged 20. She was also wed to Teddy Forstmann who is the former chairman and CEO of IMG. Lakshmi is currently in a relationship with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. They share a daughter called Krishna. Lakshmi eventually revealed the identity of her father to her daughter, though she kept it under wraps at first. "Everything is better when she's around," she said of her daughter. "Anything that happens from the beginning of the day until the end. I don't really have any interest in anything other apart from her.
