Mena Alexandra Suvari Bio

Mena Alexandra Suvari (born 13 February 1979) is an American actress as well as a fashion designer and model. Following her beginnings as a model, and appearing in several television series and films, she made her feature debut on film in the drama Nowhere (1997). Suvari became famous internationally for her roles as American Beauty's 1999 star. She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress and was also featured in three American Pie original films (1999, 2001, 2012). Other notable films she has been in are Slums of Beverly Hills (1998) and Loser (2000). Sugar & Spice (2001), Rumor Has It (2005). Stuck (2007). You May Not Kiss the Bride (2010). Suvari was a regular character in the fourth season of HBO drama series Six Feet Under (2004) and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in the Drama Series, and in the second season of Chicago Fire (2013). Suvari also played Elizabeth Short in the anthology series American Horror Story: Murder House and reprised her role in American Horror Story: Apocalypse and starred in the eight-episode show South of Hell (2015). Suvari has been a model for Lancome cosmetics as well as advertisements in print for Lancome Paris Adaptive, as an avid supporter and activist for the Starlight Children's Foundation and the African Medical and Research Foundation.
